Recent Dark Pattern Reviews

Power Creep reported on Jun 14, 2023
Newer cards tend to have more powerful skills.
Optimism and Frequency Biases reported on Jun 14, 2023
There is a friend activity log that shows new UR (ultra rare) cards your friends got, and full combos achieved on songs. There's also a friend leaderboard for events.
Competition reported on Jun 14, 2023
There is a type of event that puts you against 3 other people in a scoring competition. Score is entirely P2W because it depends mostly on the cards you have, with minimal skill component.
Aesthetic Manipulations reported on Jun 14, 2023
Maybe. The character you have on your home screen will comment on using premium currency to refill LP, participating in events, scouting (getting cards for the premium currency), current time (how late it is) etc.
Anchoring Tricks reported on Jun 14, 2023
Premium currency is obscenely expensive, given how little you get out of it, but there are occasional packs with discounts and extra items only purchasable a limited amount of times.
Waste Aversion reported on Jun 14, 2023
You can only have a set amount of space for your cards. Irrelevant if you just play songs, but a pain for collectors. It technically takes premium currency, so it's a YES, but it's so little you don't actually have to pay.
Illusion of Control reported on Jun 14, 2023
There is a particular kind of card that eases the timing window for the notes.
Badges / Endowed Progress reported on Jun 14, 2023
Achievements for number of members (cards collected), songs played, etc.
Gambling / Loot Boxes reported on Jun 14, 2023
It's a gacha game, so it's all about that.
Pay to Skip reported on Jun 14, 2023
You can play songs for LP (live points). They recover slowly over time, and you can spend items or premium currency to refill.
