Recent Dark Pattern Reviews

Daily Rewards reported on May 15, 2024
You get daily gems and 3 (out of 9) daily missions once a day. The daily missions do stack, so it incentive to open the game every day (although you don't have to play a single match) and finishing all the daily missions every 2-3 days (which is rather quick).
Premium Currency reported on May 15, 2024
You can use real money to buy gems to buy more cards.
Social Pyramid Scheme reported on May 15, 2024
You and your friend will get the Swordsoul structure deck with the new/return players campaign. This deck can still reach the highest rank in the game with some cards replaced, it used to be Meta.
Artificial Scarcity reported on May 15, 2024
Some cosmetic are limited time offers (and end up as permanent offers later) + Selection packs are also limited time offers (and end up as permanent offers later)
Gambling / Loot Boxes reported on May 15, 2024
THIS IS A CARD GAMES, YOU OPEN PACKS. There is a crafting system but you still want to get a lot of your cards through packs.
Badges / Endowed Progress reported on May 15, 2024
You can get some badges that no one cares about.
Variable Rewards reported on May 15, 2024
The game used to have uncapped gem rewards for playing a match until the ladder was filled with bots.
Waste Aversion reported on May 15, 2024
You can only have 10.000 free gems in your account balance at any given time which amount to 100 Packs. Any more gems you get will get send to the Gift Box which have expiration dates on when those items will be deleted. This mean that you can only save your gems at most for 1 months.
Competition reported on May 15, 2024
This is a competitive and there's little to no way to play it casually. Casual Match, despite its name implied, is not casual-oriented, you can often match with decks that while have bad winrate are more toxic than in ranked. The most casual you can have is some events like N/R festival and Legend Anthology, the problem is these events are time-limited.
