So many... You can watch an ad every 10 minutes to get two keys, and if you don't have VIP, you have to watch two ads in order to spin the "Fiend Of Fortune". Then, at random intervals (not all the time), it will offer you to watch an ad to get a power boost and/or an extra move before you start playing a level.
There are 10 new levels every Friday, 10 new levels every Saturday, and 10 new levels every Sunday - and even if you somehow end up getting to the latest level (like I did), there are even more levels after that - the "Hero World Tour" unlocks after you win the latest level and after you win the Hero World Tour, "Elite Levels" unlock. It never ever ends.
I am very manipulated by the cute characters who just want to save the world. I want to upgrade them and help them keep growing to fight the bad guys. The cuteness of the characters works to manipulate my emotions so I keep playing.
Epic Fiends are only available by paying for them. They cannot be bought with in-game currency. And a lot of the fiend styles (which come with an attack power boost) can only be paid for and not bought with in-game currency.
There is a lot of "hurry! Only 48 hours left to complete!" for in-game events, and some events (though not all of them) only last 2 or 4 days, so the urgency is amped up.
Can spend money to replenish energy, and also to increase your total energy amount, so that then you have a longer time to wait before you use up all your energy (and this also makes it that much easier to spend hours on the game even when you're not having fun anymore - because "I still have so much energy left!").
Sort of. When the app first opens there is IMMEDIATELY a new bundle offered, and multiple times I have accidentally clicked on the dollar sign - thank goodness for Apple asking me to sign in to purchase, because that has saved me from accidentally making a purchase many times.
At the beginning of each month, you have the option to pay $4.99 in order to unlock the "Premium" awards (which are way better than the free awards).
Not for me personally, but they have limited "events"
Gives unlimited lives as rewards randomly.
