Recent Dark Pattern Reviews

Optimism and Frequency Biases reported on Dec 9, 2022
You see achievements sorted by friend list or just your guild members. The only record of losses you can see is your own.
Aesthetic Manipulations reported on Dec 9, 2022
Minigames are the worst offender of this, with sad crying cats who want you to pay to continue the level instead of just losing and replaying, and lots of "x2" "x5" "x10" pop ups when spamming buttons for redeeming in game currency in events. Lots of notifications and pop ups advertising current events with "don't miss out!" and similar slogans.
Variable Rewards reported on Dec 9, 2022
There are a lot of rewards that are "gift boxes" which give a random crafting material, perhaps several, or an amount of in game currency. You don't know what nor how much you will get.
Complete the Collection reported on Dec 9, 2022
Most items are in outfit sets which display whether you've completed it. There's a counter in the top corner of the screen that can track completion. Every book offers completion statistics. You can also see clothing from past events; partially completed sets are automatically sorted at the top of the page while completed ones go to the bottom.
Badges / Endowed Progress reported on Dec 9, 2022
Many achievements can be obtained through regular gameplay, but there are also weird ones advocating aspects of the game like building your friend list, sharing clothing items, and completing paid/ gambling clothing sets.
Pay to Skip reported on Dec 9, 2022
There are very few timers that cannot be skipped through a purchase. Most timers are linked to diamonds, an in game currency, which can be earned through regular gameplay; with the amount of timers this is not an economical solution for free to play players, and real money must be spent.
Competition reported on Dec 9, 2022
Players are ranked and only top ranked players can obtain certain clothing items. All events have ranking lists, allowing you to see top players sorted by region, language, your friend list, or guild.
Fear of Missing Out reported on Dec 9, 2022
There's a constant cycle of events with daily rewards.
Anchoring Tricks reported on Dec 9, 2022
There are so many offer bundles and pop ups. The store opens on the offers page. Whenever you run out of any material you're met with a pop up offering a bundle.
Reciprocity reported on Dec 9, 2022
You can share some clothing items with friends. It's a mechanic that is honestly not worthwhile very quickly. You get notifications that people have borrowed your outfits.
