they make new invite rewards often and basically expect you to invite like 5 people each time the event pops up so you can get all the rewards including an invite exclusive character. The newest invite mission even has a gacha! they seriously want you to rev up those old Discord contacts

yep. if you have an account from half a decade ago you're surely going to have a lot more progress done and have more event exclusive items than newbies (unless they're whales, of course.. though, some event items are completely unobtainable now)

buffs happen often, but they're seemingly randomized. certain characters will gain a buff just a few months after release and then gain them consistently, and others will basically just sit and rot for years until they finally gain a buff that puts them directly in the meta for like... 2 weeks.. just to be thrown on the back burner for another few years.
